Shailesh Mehta

Shailesh works closely with several Madison India portfolio companies to help improve efficiencies and build value. He has over 43 years of experience as an entrepreneur, CEO of a Fortune 500 company, as well as a venture and private equity investor in the U.S. and India.

Shailesh is the former Chairman and CEO of Providian Financial, one of the top credit card issuers in the United States, which he built from a small team into a Fortune 300 company. Prior to Providian, Shailesh was an executive with AmeriTrust (now KeyCorp), the largest bank in Ohio at the time. He has been General Partner with Invesco Private capital, Operating GP with WestBridge Capital and Managing GP with Granite Hill Capital. Shailesh has made numerous venture and private equity investments in companies in the financial services sector through his family office and as GP with major venture and private equity funds. Shailesh has served or is serving on several boards in the U.S and India.

Shailesh also founded the SJM School of Management at IIT Bombay. He is a distinguished alumnus and serves on the IITB advisory council. He holds a PhD and Masters degree in Operations Research from Case Western Reserve and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay.

Ishan Bhatia

Ishan is the Director of Finance at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, Ishan worked as an auditor at KPMG. While at KPMG, Ishan has been Audit in charge on various clients handling areas such as revenue, share capital, tax, secretarial and compliance.  Ishan is a C.P.A. (Australia) and a Chartered Financial Accountant (India).

Surya Chadha

Surya oversees all investment activities at Madison India Capital Management. He has approximately twenty five years of private equity investment experience in business services, financial services, consumer, healthcare and technology industries. He has served on the board of directors of several companies in India and the U.S.

Prior to joining the firm, Surya worked in the private equity investment group at Sandler Capital. Previously, Surya worked at HarbourVest Partners as well as the Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a B.A. from Hamilton College and a B.S. from Columbia University.
 

Aarushee Jain

Aarushee is the Finance Manager at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, Aarushee worked as an auditor at Deloitte. Aarushee is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a graduate in Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from Hansraj College, Delhi University.

Samir Shrivastava

Samir evaluates and monitors investments in various sectors including financial services, consumer, business services, healthcare and technology at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, Samir worked in Mergers & Acquisitions at Kotak Investment Banking. Prior to Kotak, Samir was a consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he advised clients on business process reengineering, performance improvement and industry best practices. Samir received his MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad and B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi.

Tan Jing Hang

Jing Hang is the Finance Manager at Madison India Capital Management.

Prior to joining the firm, Jing Hang worked as an auditor at Deloitte Singapore, specialising in Financial Services. During his time at Deloitte, Jing Hang served as the audit manager for prominent venture capital and private equity funds.  Jing Hang is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
 

Sushain Trehan

Sushain evaluates and monitors investments in various sectors including financial services, consumer, business services and technology at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, Sushain worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Credit Suisse, India. Sushain received his MBA from the Indian School of Business. He also received his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and M. Tech in Process Engineering & Design from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

Mudit Gusain

Mudit evaluates and monitors investments in various sectors including financial services, consumer, business services, healthcare and technology at Madison India Capital Management.

Prior to joining the firm, Mudit worked in the financial advisory group at Rothschild. He was also a co-founder of Groots, a B2B online grocery platform. Mudit received his B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi.

John Biju

John evaluates and monitors investments in various sectors including financial services, consumer, business services, healthcare and technology at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, John worked in the Investment team at ARGA Investment Management. Prior to ARGA Investment Management, John was part of the Performance Improvement Practice Area team at Bain & Company where he advised companies on their G&A and Procurement organizational structure optimization. John received his B.Sc in Physics with Honors from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.

Harshita Jain

Harshita evaluates and monitors investments in various sectors including financial services, consumer, business services, healthcare and technology at Madison India Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining the firm, Harshita worked in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring team in Alvarez & Marsal, where she worked on merger and acquisition advisory assignments and debt restructuring for clients across consumer retail and infra. Harshita received her B. Com (H) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi.

Ishan Maitreya

Prior to joining the firm, Ishan worked in the Structured Solutions, Fund Financing team at Morgan Stanley. Ishan received his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from India Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
